Privacy Policy Frelium
Last updated: September 2, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Frelium ("the App", "we", "our") handles your information. Frelium is developed and maintained by Giacomo Cavallini ("Developer", "I"), an individual developer based in Italy.
This policy is written to apply to users worldwide, including the European Union/EEA and UK (GDPR / UK GDPR), the United States (including the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA), Australia (Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles), Canada (PIPEDA), Brazil (LGPD), and other applicable data protection laws. Where a specific law grants you rights beyond what is described here, those rights apply regardless of what this policy says.
By downloading or using Frelium, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
This policy describes the App as it currently works. Frelium is actively developed, and its data practices, pricing, and feature set may change over time — see Section 12 ("Changes to This Privacy Policy") for how we handle that.
2. Summary
As of the date of this policy, Frelium does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with the Developer or any third party.
All data you enter in the App (transactions, clients, budgets, photos, settings) is stored exclusively on your device and is not sent to any server, cloud service, or third party by the current version of the App.
This may change in the future — for example, if optional account creation, cloud backup/sync, or analytics are introduced. Any such change will only apply going forward, will be clearly disclosed, and this policy will be updated before the change takes effect (see Section 12).
3. Data We Do NOT Currently Collect
The current version of Frelium does not collect:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, IP address)
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or crash reports
- Financial data (all figures remain on your device)
- Biometric data
There are no accounts, no login, and no registration required to use the App.
4. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The App stores the following data exclusively on your device:
| Data | Purpose | Where stored |
|---|---|---|
| Transactions (income & expenses) | Core app functionality | SQLite database (local) |
| Client information (name, color, hourly rate, billing details) | Core app functionality | SQLite database (local) |
| Invoices and invoice sender details | Core app functionality | SQLite database / local storage |
| Client profile photos | Visual identification of clients | Device file system |
| Budget targets and currency settings | User preferences | AsyncStorage (local) |
This data is entirely under your control. You can export, import, or permanently delete it at any time from within the App.
5. Device Permissions
Frelium may request the following device permissions:
Camera & Photo Library
- Purpose: To let you set a profile photo for clients, or attach a business logo to your invoices
- When: Only when you explicitly choose to add a photo or logo
- Stored: Locally on your device only
- Shared: Never — photos are never uploaded or transmitted by the current version of the App
You can revoke these permissions at any time from your device settings. The App will continue to function without them, with reduced functionality for the related feature.
Storage (Android only)
- Purpose: Required by the operating system to read/write backup files during export and import, and to save generated PDF invoices
- Shared: Never
6. Third-Party Services
The current version of Frelium does not integrate any third-party service that collects data on our behalf, including:
- No analytics (Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
- No crash reporting (Crashlytics, Sentry, etc.)
- No advertising networks
- No social media SDKs
- No payment processors (see Section 8 for how this could change)
If any such service is added in the future, it will be disclosed here, along with what it collects and why, before it ships.
App Store & Google Play
If you download the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, those platforms may collect data about your download and device according to their own privacy policies. This data is handled by Apple and Google respectively and is outside our control:
7. Do We Sell or Share Your Personal Information?
No. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months. Since the current version of the App collects no personal data, there is nothing to sell or share. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and, where required by law (e.g. under the CCPA/CPRA), provide a clear opt-out mechanism before any such sharing begins.
8. Future Features That May Affect This Policy
Frelium is under active development. The Developer may, in the future, introduce features that change how data is handled, including but not limited to:
- Optional account creation and cloud backup/sync, so your data can follow you across devices
- Analytics or crash reporting, to understand and fix bugs
- Payment processing for paid features, subscriptions, or tiers — see Section 9
None of these exist in the current version of the App. Should any of them be introduced:
- This Privacy Policy will be updated before the feature is released, describing exactly what is collected, why, how long it is kept, and who (if anyone) it is shared with
- Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent before collecting new categories of data
- Any cloud/account features will be optional unless a future version states otherwise at the time of release, and the App is expected to continue supporting fully local, offline use where technically feasible
- We will not retroactively apply new data practices to data you generated before the change without telling you
9. In-App Purchases and Paid Features (Future)
Currently, Frelium is free and contains no in-app purchases. Should paid features, subscriptions, or usage restrictions be introduced in the future — whether as new features or changes to existing free functionality — any payment processing will be handled exclusively by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). The Developer will never directly process or store your payment card information. This Privacy Policy, and the Terms and Conditions, will be updated accordingly before any such change is launched.
10. Children's Privacy
Frelium is not directed at children. Depending on your jurisdiction, the relevant age threshold may be under 13 (e.g. COPPA in the US), under 16 (GDPR default in the EU/EEA, unless a member state sets a lower age), or another age set by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since no personal data is collected by the current version of the App, it poses no known privacy risk to minors. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data in violation of this policy, we will take steps to delete it.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Because the current version of Frelium does not collect or process personal data on external servers, the Developer does not act as a data controller/processor for that data in the traditional sense — you are the sole controller of all data stored on your own device. The rights below describe both what you can already do directly in the App, and the rights you would have under the relevant law if that ever changes.
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK (GDPR / UK GDPR)
- Right to access, rectify, and erase your data — available directly in the App at any time
- Right to data portability — export all your data as a JSON file from Settings
- Right to restrict or object to processing, and right to withdraw consent at any time, for any future feature that relies on it
- Right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority (Supervisory Authority) if you believe your rights have been violated
If you are in the United States (including California — CCPA/CPRA)
- Right to know what personal information is collected, used, or (hypothetically) sold — currently, none is
- Right to delete personal information — available directly in the App
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information — available directly in the App
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — not applicable, as we do not sell or share it (Section 7)
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights
If you are in Australia
- Rights under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) of the Privacy Act 1988, including access to and correction of your personal information — available directly in the App, since no personal information is held by us
If you are in Canada or Brazil (PIPEDA / LGPD), or elsewhere
- You retain equivalent rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability over your data, all exercisable directly within the App. If you believe a locally applicable law grants you additional rights, contact us using the details in Section 15 and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
For any privacy-related questions or requests, contact: giacomoleonemariadev@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days, or sooner where required by applicable law.
12. Data Security
Since all data is currently stored locally on your device, security depends on your device's own protections (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We recommend:
- Keeping your device OS up to date
- Using a screen lock
- Making regular backups using the App's export feature
The Developer has no access to your data and cannot recover it if your device is lost or reset. If cloud storage is introduced in the future, this section will be updated to describe the additional safeguards in place for data in transit and at rest.
13. Data Retention
You control how long your data is kept. Data persists on your device until you:
- Manually delete records within the App
- Use the "Clear All Data" function in Settings
- Uninstall the App (which removes all local data)
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — including to reflect new features, new data practices, new paid functionality, or changes in applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. For material changes (in particular, any change that means the App starts collecting, transmitting, or sharing personal data where it previously did not), we will notify users through an in-app notice or App Store/Google Play update notes, and — where required by applicable law — seek your consent before the change takes effect. Continued use of the App after non-material changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
The latest version will always be available at the GitHub repository linked in the App Store listing, and at this page.
